Check-in
From 4:00pm, self check-in.
This simple yet beautifully situated three-bedroom house offers relaxed, comfortable accommodation with views over the River Dye. It features a sitting room, one bathroom, a separate loo, and a functional kitchen. While the kitchen and bathroom are modest, both are clean, fresh, and fully equipped. Thoughtfully furnished with a mix of antique, vintage, and modern pieces, and curated art and homewares, the house has a quiet charm and a lovely south-facing garden-ideal for slow mornings or evenings after a day exploring Glen Dye Retreat.
Though more pared-back than some of our other spaces-without extras like a hot tub or record player—guests still have access to the estates own traditional Scottish BYOB space with a roaring fire and record player, and Garden Camp, a shared outdoor and indoor recreation area with games and a wood-burning stove. You’re welcome to gather seasonal vegetables and fresh eggs when available, and the on site general store offers a curated selection of essentials and souvenirs. Don’t forget to book a private session in the electric sauna at the Discovery and Adventure Centre—complete with cold water dip tanks. Breakfast is included.

Glen Dye Estate is located in Kincardineshire, surrounded by 30,000 acres of wilderness with the River Dye winding through its ancient pine forests, heather-covered hills and expansive moorland. Beneath the granite tor of Clachnaben, the landscape feels untouched—rich in wildlife, steeped in history and filled with the quiet magic that only true remoteness can bring. Views stretch for miles across wooded glens and rolling hills, with ever-changing skies shifting from golden morning light to long, luminous sunsets.
Adventure begins at your doorstep. Hike to waterfalls, cycle quiet forestry tracks or wild swim in the river; wander gentle woodland paths or climb towards Clachnaben for panoramic summit views. The estate itself is alive with simple pleasures—gather eggs from the hens, pick seasonal vegetables from the garden and meet neighbours at the Glen Dye Arms, the estate’s BYOB space. A wide range of experiences can also be arranged, from bushcraft and venison masterclasses to forest bathing, archery tag, salmon and sea trout fishing, bike hire and axe throwing, alongside creative workshops, whisky tastings, yoga sessions and even private cinema hire. Once your booking is confirmed, the Birch Stays team will be delighted to help curate activities and ensure your stay is truly unforgettable.
We’re selective about what homes make the collection. Every home is vetted and chosen for its design, its setting, and whether it actually delivers when you walk through the door.
We know rounding everyone up takes time. We can hold any property free for 24 hours while you check with the group. No payment, no commitment, no pressure.
Need a private chef for Saturday night? Help adding guests to a booking or choosing between three houses? Want the hot tub turned on? That’s what we’re here for.
