This breath-taking countryside holiday home exudes relaxation and tradition. Dating back to the 18th century, Rowling House has been thoughtfully restored with modern features and contemporary interiors whilst highlighting the history and heritage.

Spacious and full of light, it has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms so provides plenty of space for groups of all types and is, of course, pet friendly meaning you can bring your furry family with you too, we’d love to welcome them.

It’s an excellent base from which to explore the amazing scenery just on your doorstep as you’re just at the foot of the world famous Yorkshire Dales National Park meaning you have access to plenty of walks and rambles all across the Dales, or you could take your bikes across the many cycling trails it also has to offer. Not just that, you’re staying as part of the Estate meaning you have access to the Avalon centre, a dedicated wellness hub where you can book activities and sessions from their extensive menu.

Around the estate you’ll find a nature reserve, acres of woodland and plenty of outdoor dining experiences, we can even cater! If you’re feeling really wild and adventurous you could try wild swimming in some of the swimming spots around the estate. Rowling House is a stay like no other, with its own private garden you can spend as much time relaxing here as you like in wonderful homely surroundings, but if you’d rather spend all day out and about in the countryside then you’re in an absolutely ideal location to do so.

Grand Living Spaces

Rowling House offers a warm and inviting open-plan kitchen and dining space on the ground floor, featuring wood flooring and underfloor heating throughout. The well-equipped farmhouse-style kitchen opens onto a covered yard with a seating area, perfect for relaxed alfresco moments. The dining room, with its colourful furnishings, provides a vibrant setting for shared meals. Meanwhile, the living room, with its original oak beams and a charming woodburner, is perfect for cosy evenings. A convenient downstairs WC completes the space.

Luxurious Bedrooms

The cottage features six spacious bedrooms, providing ample room for large groups or families. On the ground floor, the master bedroom offers a super-king bed and an en suite bathroom. Upstairs, you’ll find five additional bedrooms – there are two double bedrooms with en suite facilities, as well as one double and two single bedrooms that share a bathroom and a shower room. For added flexibility, each double bed can be converted to twin beds if preferred.

Garden

The outdoor space at Rowling House is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the surroundings. Adjacent to the house, a large established garden with a lawn and picnic bench offers a great spot to unwind with a morning coffee while taking in the view, or for younger ones to play. There’s also a covered yard with a seating area off the kitchen, ideal for alfresco dining or relaxation. French windows from the downstairs bedroom lead out onto a charming patio, providing easy access to the outdoors.
