Why We Love North Wales

An area that’s extremely close to our heart and a community that we love and are privileged to be a part of, the area of North Wales and especially Anglesey is, we believe, one of the best places to holiday in the world.

Few places in the UK can match the drama and beauty of North Wales. From golden beaches and rugged mountain trails to historic towns and iconic landmarks, this region offers an unforgettable blend of natural wonder and cultural richness.

You’ll find holiday homes across scenic counties, including Conwy, Flintshire, Gwynedd, Wrexham and Denbighshire, each with its own charm, heritage, and stories to tell. And, of course, North Wales is also home to one of the oldest living languages in Europe, which is still proudly spoken today.

Anglesey, just off the northwest coast, boasts some of Europe’s most beautiful beaches. Whether you prefer golden sands and calm waters or windswept shores perfect for dog walks, this island has it all, including the famous beach café that draws thousands of visitors each year.

Love watersports? Head to Rhosneigr, where you can surf, paddleboard or simply explore the laid-back streets filled with great places to eat, drink and shop.

And for walkers? North Wales is your playground. With Snowdonia National Park just a short drive from many of our cottages, you’ll find trails ranging from gentle countryside strolls to full mountain hikes — all with breathtaking views.

Whether you’re visiting in the summer or in the cooler months, it doesn’t matter as there’s plenty to do here all year round.

We find that the festive period can easily be just as popular as the height of the summer season because, as well as lovely beaches, walks and beer gardens, there are equally cosy fireplace pubs, rugged terrain exploring and amazing North Wales cottages for you to stay in, get warm and enjoy.

Our first holiday stays and North Wales cottages were in Anglesey and across North Wales, so it’s a place we find easy to champion and celebrate. From the Bodorgan Inn, a converted pub right next to a historic railway station that sleeps up to 21 guests to The Pines, sleeping up to 19, you know that if you want a North Wales cottage to make memories, we’ll be able to offer it and the team here at Birch Stays will make it all the more special for you. We’ve got smaller stays such as The Bungalow, sleeping up to 7 guests. You can feel at ease that we’ve got you covered no matter what you’re looking for.

So whether you’re a North Wales veteran and visit regularly, or want to come and experience this amazing part of the world for the first time, take a look through our North Wales cottages and unique holiday homes and you’ll be sure to find something that will steal your heart.
